Theseus and the Minotaur 

Year 4 have read the myth "Theseus and the Minotaur" as part of our Ancient Greece topic. As part of the Design and Technology curriculum, we are expected to measure, mark and cut dowel to make joints and so we used these skills to created our fabulous labyrinths.

Firstly, we had to plan our design and calculate our measurements. Secondly, we created a prototype using art straws to ensure accuracy when cutting the dowel. Next, we used hand saws, a g-clamp, wood glue and dowel to construct our final product. Finally, we researched Greek patterns and transferred these designs onto our labyrinths to make them complete !
