We have been asked by Birmingham Local Authority to advertise their supportive SEND sessions to all parents. Below is their e-mail description about the sessions.
Be Empowered is a six-week early support programme for parent carers of children and young people with SEND. The workshops are designed to help families feel more informed, confident, and empowered in understanding SEND and the support available to them. (Each workshop last for approximately 3 hours.)
The next online group begins this Friday and the next face to face group begins on Monday next week, so time is very limited. For schools and settings, this is a really valuable opportunity to signpost families to support at an early stage. Helping parent carers to develop their knowledge and confidence can support more positive conversations between families and settings and help parent carers feel better equipped to navigate the SEND journey.
